Card for Baby Laird

My cousin recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy called Laird. I bought some cute clothes for him today and so decided to make a card.

I am now on my summer holidays - woo hoo.

I used a cricut cart I forgot I had - the Simply Charmed one. It has got such cute images. I cut out the baby bottle in boy colours. I also cut out a phrase which says welcome little one. This is from the same cart.

I deliberately kept it very simple but I love how cute it came out. The baby bottle is so sweet. I loved this image so much I cut out another which you will be able to see tomorrow. How cute are those googly eyes?

Big Hugs to all who read my blog.

Congratulations card

This is an overdue card. I should have made this last week but due to my SQA marking I didn't have the time or energy.

I got in from my schools prize giving at 9.30 pm and I decided I needed to make the card. I already had half an idea in my mind for the card. I knew I wanted to use the new anniversary set and I also knew I wanted to try a different stamp apart from the poppy one.

So I decided I felt like bright pink card base. Hardly surprising since my favourite colour is raspberry fizz. I love this paired with aqua mist (i was going to use lemon tart with it but I felt it was just too bright for what I was planning to make.

I die cut my shape I wanted to stamp on and then stamped my pretty flowers and used my chai ink to distress the edges subtly.

I then cut a slice of aqua mist and impressed it with my wood grain plate. LOVE IT!! I added a white mat to add a bit of contrast.

I then fished out my new sentiment set with the word dies. Too cute. Then I put the card together.

I am quite quietly impressed with it. I should have said it is for one of my colleagues who found out that not only does she have a permanent contract but she is staying with us. Yippee.

Blue Poppies

I made this notebook in tribute to some fabulous Himalayan poppies that my dad and I see every year when we visit Luss, Loch Lomond. In the village there is a garden with the most gorgeous blue poppies in. Every year I promise myself I will get some in my garden. This summer I am determined to get my garden sorted out. So I am getting some this year! :)

We stopped at this fab coffee shop for soup and cakes. OMG yum yum. It was so good. Then we decided to take a drive to Oban (further away than I realised).

Poppies must be the theme of the day because we stopped at a garden centre outside of Oban called Poppies. It was lush. My dad had a cake - I was being good.

On the way back we drove through Glencoe which is stunningly beautiful and very atmopsheric.

Such a a fab day.

Butterfly Notebook

This has been made for the same little girl as the strawberry notebook. It is just so cute. I particularly love this patterned paper. It is such a nice colour combination.

Strawberry Notebook

I recently re-discovered my Bind It All. I am totally loving makign these cute notebooks. I made this one for a work colleague for her grand daughter. The inside pages are lined and the little girl is just starting school in August. So this will be for practising her letters in. How cute is that?
